SocketScan software sends data from your Socket barcode scanner, RFID reader
or magnetic stripe reader into any application running on the SoMo 650. This
lets you use Socket data collection peripherals without having to program
custom applications. The software comes pre-loaded on the SoMo 650.
This chapter contains generic instructions for using SocketScan on the SoMo
650 with these products:
• SD Scan Card Series 3
• CF Mag Stripe Reader Card Series 4
• CF Scan Card Series 5
• CF RFID Reader Card Series 6
For specific instructions, please refer to the User’s Guide for your specific
Socket data collection product, available in the installation CD that came

SocketScan 7.5.1 and later also supports the UIC683 contactless smart
card reader. Please refer to UIC documentation for instructions.
