Messaging Settings

To configure the settings for text messages, Voice mails, and
Push messages, follow these steps:

From a Home screen, touch

Apps

Messaging

Menu

Settings.

The following Messaging settings are available:

Storage settings

• Delete old messages: deletes old messages when the limit is

reached, rather than having them overwritten.

• Maximum number of text messages: allows you to set a limit on

how many text messages can be in one conversation.

Text message (SMS) settings

• Manage SIM card messages: allows you to manage the

messages that you have stored on your SIM card.

• Message center: allows you to enter the number of your message

center where your messages reside while the system is attempting
to deliver them.

• Input mode: allows you to set the input mode for your text

messages. Choose between GSM Alphabet, Unicode, or Automatic.

• Expiry date: allows you to set the expiry date of your messages.

Cell Broadcast (CB) settings

• CB activation: allows you to receive Cell Broadcast (CB) messages.

• Channel settings: allows you to set up the channel that you will

receive CB messages on. Touch Receiving channel to make a
selection. If you select My channel, touch Add channel to add the
Station name and Channel number.

• Language: allows you to select all of the languages that you want

to receive CB messages in.

Notification settings

• Notifications: allows you to see message notifications on your

status bar.

• Select ringtone: allows you to set the ringtone for your message

notifications.

Text-to-speech settings

• Read out new message notification: allows you to have message

notifications delivered by speech.

• Read out message contents: allows you to have message

contents delivered by speech.
