Attach the Wireless Barricade to the Internet

If Internet services are provided through an xDSL or Cable
modem, use unshielded or shielded twisted-pair Ethernet cable
(Category 3 or greater) with RJ-45 plugs to connect the broadband
modem directly to the WAN port on the Wireless Barricade. Use
either straight-through or crossover cable depending on the port
type provided by the modem (see Appendix B). For ISDN or PSTN
service, attach the access device to the RS-232 serial port on the
Wireless Barricade.

Figure 2-5. Making WAN Connections

Note: When connecting to the WAN port, use 100-ohm Category

3, 4 or 5 shielded or unshielded twisted-pair cable with
RJ-45 connectors at both ends for all connections.

Connect the Wireless Barricade to a Printer

If you connect a printer to the Wireless Barricade, all the computer
users connected to your LAN can have access to the printer.
Connect a standard parallel printer cable to the Printer port on the
Wireless Barricade, and configure the printer server as described
on page 6-1.
