Switching off the password
Proceed as follows if you want to switch off the password.
Open menu as under “Define password” (page 9).
Call menu.
5 6 Select Set Password.
4 Call third level.
5 6 Select Delete.
Confirm with OK.
Enter a four-digit number with number buttons.
Confirm with OK.
Delete Password
If you forget your password, proceed as follows to delete the current password.
Call menu.
Enter the six-digit number “10499” with the number
buttons.
A message is displayed.
3 4 Select the yes button.
Confirm with OK.
The four-digit password is deleted. Enter a new password as
described above.
Lock System
Certain stations and DVDs can be locked. If the Lock option is set to On, locked
contents are skipped (see Station lock in the Station list menu, page 5). A pass-
word is then required for the functions in the “Lock” menu. The password is also
necessary to see a locked station/contents. If the Lock option is set to Off all the
locks are released.
Open menu as under “Define password” (page ).
5 6 Select Lock System option.
4 Call third level.
Enter the four-digit password with the numeric buttons (page ).
5 6 Switch Lock System On or Off.
Confirm with OK.
DVD Rating
This function prevents playing of DVDs unsuitable for children if these contain
the appropriate code.
Open menu as under “Define password” (page ).
5 6 Select DVD Rating.

5 6 Select security stage between 1 and 8.
No Limit The disc is played completely.
Step 1 to 8 Only the scenes of the loaded disc are played which
correspond to the assigned security stage or a lower
level. Stage “1” has the most playing restrictions.
Confirm with OK.
Rating digital TV
You can lock digital TV programs above a certain age category. The classification
of the program depends on the respective program provider.
Open menu as under “Define password” (page ).
5 6 Select DTV Rating option.
Enter four-digit password.
5 6 Select desired age limit.
No control The lock is not active. You can watch all digital TV
stations.
4 ...18 Years The lock is active for programs above the set age limit.
Lock All All programs are locked.
Confirm with OK.
