Check the ink levels and install a new cartridge if necessary.
Decrease the transmission speed.
1 Press Fax Mode.
2 Press .
3 Press or repeatedly until Dialing and Sending is highlighted.
4 Press .
5 Press or repeatedly until Max Send Speed is highlighted.
6 Press or until 14,400 appears.
7 Press .
8 If the problem persists, repeat step 1–step 6 until 9600 appears.
9 Press .
10 If the problem still persists, repeat step 1–step 6 until 2400 appears.
11 Press .
12 Press .
Notes:
• The lower the transmission speed, the longer it will take your fax to print.
• This solution will reduce the speed for future faxes until you reset the transmission speed.
Error message: Fax error
The fax machines have stopped communicating.
Resend the fax. There may have been a problem with the quality of the telephone line connection.
Error message: Fax mode unsupported
The receiving fax machine does not support the type of fax you attempted to send. If it does not support:
• Your scan resolution—lower the scan resolution.
