A. This appliance is equipped with an ignition device which

automatically lights the pilot. Do not try to light the pilot

by hand.

B. BEFORE OPERATING smell all around the appliance area

for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor because some

gas is heavier than air and will settle on the floor.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS

Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electric switch; do not use any phone

in your building.

FOR YOUR SAFETY READ BEFORE OPERATING

Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s

phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions.

If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire depart-

ment.

C. If any portion of this appliance does not operate as the

instructions indicate, do not try to repair it, call a qualified

service technician. Do not use tools. Force or attempted

repair may result in a fire or explosion.

D. Do not use this appliance if any part has been under

water. Immediately call a qualified service technician

to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the

control system and any gas control which has been under

water.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS — ELECTRONIC

1. For complete shut-down, turn remote wall switch to “OFF"

or set the thermostat to the lowest setting, if applicable.

2. Turn the ON/OFF switch to “OFF”. If step 1 is not applicable.

3. Turn off all electric power to the appliance and remove

backup batteries if service is to be performed or for

extended shutdown.

TO TURN OFF GAS TO APPLIANCE

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. STOP! Read the safety information above on this page.

2. Turn remote wall switch to “OFF" or set wall thermostat

to lowest setting. If used, remove the batteries from the

battery holder.

3. This appliance is equipped with an ignition device which

automatically lights the pilot. Do not try to light the pilot

by hand.

4. Push the unit mounted "ON/OFF" switch to the "OFF" posi-

tion.

5. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Then smell

for gas, including near the floor. If you smell gas, STOP!

Follow “B” in the safety information above (to the left) on

this label. If you don’t smell gas, go to the next step.

6. Push the unit mounted "ON/OFF" switch back to the "ON"

position. (The "ON/OFF" switch may include a wall switch

if so equipped). Replace the batteries in the battery

holder, if used. If the burner does not light or stay lit after

several tries, turn the unit mounted "ON/OFF" switch to

the "OFF" position and call your service technician or gas

supplier. NOTE: Sufficient time must be allowed for air to

escape from lines if the unit is being lit for the first time.

7. Turn HI-LO burner control knob to desired setting and

close control door.

8. Set thermostat to desired setting if applicable.

9. If the appliance will not operate, follow the in-

structions "To Turn Off Gas To Appliance" and

call your service technician or gas supplier.

TO SHUT OFF

1. Turn off all electrical power to the appliance (remote wall

switch) or set the thermostat to the lowest setting, if ap-

plicable. Or remove batteries, if used.

WARNING: IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY, A FIRE OR EXPLOSION MAY

RESULT CAUSING PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INjURY OR LOSS OF LIFE.
