The ideal dual zone installation is shown in A above, in which there is no
overlap or interference between radio modules. If there is minimal overlap,
as shown in B above, there will be some interference between radio modules.
If the zones overlap too much, as shown in C above, there will be
interference between the radio modules, causing one or more of the
following: bad voice quality; the Pocket Phone is rendered inoperable
(

General Installation Guidelines

Following are general guidelines regarding zone overlaps.

Separate the dual zone radio modules so that the customer has continual
coverage, yet no overlap (recommended) or minimal overlap between
zones, as shown in the previous illustration.

If there is an overlap condition, poor voice quality could occur and the
range icon may appear in the handset display. If this occurs, move the
dual zone base further from the original installation. If this is not
possible, use an 117A3 carrier and lower the power level of the Zone 2
base by changing the dip switch setting in Slot 2 of the carrier. For more
