If You Suspect Something Wrong

Check and take steps as described in the tables below.

If the suggestions below do not solve the problems, it is recommend-
ed to take the unit to your nearest authorized Panasonic Servicenter.
The product should be serviced only by qualified personnel. Please
refer checking and repair to professionals. Panasonic shall not be
liable for any accidents arising out of neglect of checking the unit or
your own repair after your checking.

Troubleshooting

Common

A mobile phone is used near the unit.

a

Keep the mobile phone away from the unit.

The unit’s grounding wire is not connected securely.

a

Check the metal areas of the car chassis (body), and connect the ground-
ing wire more securely.

Noise
Picture is not clear.

Parking brake (side brake) lead is not correctly connected.

a

Connect the side brake connection lead correctly.

You did not pull the parking brake (side brake) lever.

a

Pull the parking brake (side brake) lever.

Only sound,
no picture.

The volume is adjusted to zero. (Control unit)

a

Raise the volume.

Mute is set to ON. (Control unit)

a

Set it to OFF.

Cables are not correctly connected.

a

Connect cables correctly.

Condensation (dew)

a

Wait for a while before use.

No sound

Car’s ignition switch is not on.

a

Turn your car’s ignition switch to ACC or ON.

Cables are not correctly connected.

Connect cables correctly.

Battery cable is not correctly connected.

Connect the battery cable to the terminal that is always live.

Accessory cable is not correctly connected.

Connect the accessory cable to your car’s ACC source.

Servicenter and ask for fuse replacement.

This unit does not support CD-TEXT display. This is normal.

CD text is not
displayed.

If audio or subtitles in the languages are not recorded on the disc, the audio or
subtitles do not switch to that language. (Some discs permit switching through
a menu screen. Refer to the guide provided with your disc.)

The audio/subtitle
language selected in
the DVD settings is not
used.

¡It is not possible to switch if the disc does not have multiple audio lan-

guages/subtitle languages/angles recorded on it. (Refer to the guide provided
with your disc.)

¡Some discs permit switching through a menu screen.
¡Sometimes, switching angles is possible only with certain scenes.

Cannot switch the
audio language/subtitle
language/angle.

¡Disc is defective.
¡Mechanical trouble.

Press [u]. If failure persists, press the reset switch (

page 53). If nor-

mal operation is not restored, call the store where you purchased the unit
or the nearest Panasonic Servicenter.

The magazine is not
ejected.

Some operations are not permitted with certain discs.

The buttons do not
work.

Unstable mounting.

Mount the unit securely with the mounting parts, referring to the section
on installation.

Sound skip due to
vibration.

The disc is dirty.

CD sound skips, tone
quality is low.

The disc is upside down.

Place the disc in the correct direction, the label side up.

The unit can only play the following types of discs: DVD, VCD (Video CD) and
music CD.

The disc is inside but
no sound.

Warnings:

¡Do not use the unit in an irregular condition,

for example, no sound, or if it is emitting
smoke or foul smell, as this may cause elec-
tric shock. Immediately stop using it and
call the store where you purchased it.

¡Never try to repair the unit by yourself due

to risk of electrical injury and potential dam-
age to electrical safety equipment.
