Error Messages

If the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.
Display message Cause & solution

● There is something wrong with the unit. Contact our service
personnel.
CALL SERVICE
● The document was not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the
document. If misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the document
feeder rollers (p. 76) and try again. If the problem remains, adjust
the feeder pressure (p. 75).
CHECK DOCUMENT
● The drum unit was not inserted properly. Reinsert it correctly
(p. 14).
CHECK DRUM
● Memory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased.
Re-program.
CHECK MEMORY
● The front cover is open. Close it.
COVER OPEN
● Recording paper was not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the
recording paper (p. 73).
FAILED PICK UP
● The unit has a document in memory. See the other displayed
message instructions to print out the document.
FAX IN MEMORY
● Memory is full of received documents due to a lack of recording
paper or a recording paper jam. Install paper or clear the jammed
paper.
● When performing memory transmission, the document being
stored exceeds the memory capacity of the unit. Transmit the
entire document manually.
FAX MEMORY FULL
● There is no space to store new stations in the EASY DIAL
directory. Erase unnecessary stations (p. 27).
EASY DIAL FULL
● When making a copy, the document being stored exceeds the
memory capacity of the unit. Press
to clear the
message. Divide the document into sections.
STOP
MEMORY FULL
● There is something wrong with the modem circuit. Contact our
service personnel.
MODEM ERROR
● There is something wrong with the drum unit. Replace the drum
unit and the toner cartridge (p. 70).
