Connecting to Another Player
for Control of 601 Discs

When you have two Pioneer DV-F727 players or decide
to add a second Pioneer DV-F727 player to
accommodate a growing disc collection, it is possible to
make
Master-Slave connections to use both players as a single
unit for total control of up to 601 discs.

• Before making Master-Slave connections, be sure to

complete audio and video connections for the player
to be used as the master player (pages 17 and 18).

• When you are adding a second player, it is

recommended to use the second player as the Slave
player.

• Master-Slave connections can only be made to

another Pioneer file-type DVD player. Connections
cannot be made to a Pioneer file-type CD player.

Be sure to turn the power off before making any
connections. For full and complete Master-Slave
connection, be sure to make connections for control,
audio, and video as described in the following
procedure.

1

Connect the supplied control cord from this
player’s MASTER-SLAVE CONTROL MASTER
jack to the MASTER-SLAVE CONTROL SLAVE
jack of another Pioneer DV-F727.

the Slave player to the AUDIO IN jacks on the
Master player.

• Use the audio cable included with the Slave

to match the color of the plugs with the color of
the jacks (red and white).

Digital audio connections
• Connect the DIGITAL OUT (coaxial) jack on the

Slave player to the DIGITAL IN (coaxial) jack on
the Master player.

• Use a commercially available coaxial cable to

connect the DIGITAL OUT (coaxial) jack on the
Slave player to the DIGITAL IN (coaxial) jack on
the Master player.

• The digital audio signal input at the DIGITAL IN

(coaxial) jack is output from both the DIGITAL
OUT (coaxial) and OPT. OUT (optical) jacks.

Notes

• One Master-Slave control cord is supplied with each unit,

however, only one cord is needed.

• When a Master-Slave control cord is not firmly connected, or

transmission is not made successfully, “CONNECT ERR” is
displayed in the display window of both units. Should this
occur, please make connections again.

• When not making Master-Slave connections, do not make any

connections to the MASTER-SLAVE CONTROL jacks.
