Advanced Operation for Video Discs (DVD/VCD/DivX)
Subtitle
A subtitle language can be selected if the loaded disc has
multi-language subtitles.
When [1] (SUBTITLE) is held down for 2 sec. or more,
the subtitle language is changed over at the intervals of 1
second.
Audio
An audio channel can be selected if the disc holding
multi-audio channels is loaded.
When [2] (AUDIO) is held down for 2 sec. or more, the
audio channel is changed over at the intervals of 1 sec-
ond.
Note: Channel change may take time when a DivX file
plays depending on its file structure.
Audio
Audio output can be selected from among “STEREO”,
“MONO L” and “MONO R”.
When [2] (AUDIO) is held down for 2 sec. or more, the
audio output is changed over at the intervals of 1 second.
Angle
An angle can be selected if a multi-angle disc is loaded.
When [3] (ANGLE) is held down for 2 sec. or more, the
angle is changed over at the intervals of 1 second.
D.Range Compression
A range of dynamic range compression can be selected.
This function is effective for playback of Dolby
Digital/Dolby Surround DVD video. The words of an actor
hardly audible during playback at a low volume, for
example, will become easier to listen to by selecting
“MINIMUM”.
1 Hold down [0] (DRC) during playback for 2 sec. or
more to activate the DRC selection mode.
2 Hold down [0] (DRC) for 2 sec. or more to select a
range of DRC.

Caution
The sound of DVD video covers a wide dynamic range
of more than 100 dB. Thus, the reproduced sound
volume of some DVD discs may be significantly low.
When the volume is increased in this case, the sound
may reach the peak level suddenly and it may lead to
a traffic accident. To avoid such an accident, this
function is useful.
