ACTIVE-TRAC SYSTEM
Your Jazzy 1400 is equipped with an Active-Trac System (ATS). ATS is a suspension system designed to
make your Jazzy traverse different types of terrain and obstacles while maintaining smooth operation. With
ATS, the front anti-tip wheels work in conjunction with the motor suspension to help you maneuver over
obstacles in excess of three (3) inches in height.

As the front anti-tip wheels come in contact with an obstacle, the front anti-tip wheel assembly is drawn
upward while the motor suspension is moved downward. This reduces the possibility of the Jazzy 1400
becoming “hung up.”

ATS also helps in normal operating conditions. For instance, when you release the joystick, your Jazzy
begins to slow down. As your Jazzy slows, the front anti-tip wheels automatically lower toward the ground.
This reduces the forward tip that typically happens when center-wheel-drive chairs slow and come to a stop.

REAR SUSPENSION
Your Jazzy is equipped with Rear Suspension. See figure 8. This suspension system works in conjunction
with the ATS and is also designed to maintain a smooth ride when driving over rough terrain and up and
down kerbs. This system works by allowing the caster forks to respond to weight transfers and abrupt
terrain. The rear caster wheels will pivot as you drive over obstacles. This system also compensates for the
lowering of the front anti-tip wheels.
