Hot Wings

8 pounds (4 kg) chicken wings
1 cup (250 ml) cider vinegar
2 tablespoons (30 ml) hot pepper sauce
2 cups (500 ml) barbecue sauce

Rinse chicken wings in cold water. Place ingredients in crock in order listed, pour-
ing barbecue sauce over all. Cover and cook: Low – 6 hours OR High – 3 hours.

Mulled, Spiced, & Spiked Apple Cider

-3 cups (375-750 ml) bourbon or fruit juice

teaspoons (7.5 ml) cinnamon

1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground ginger

teaspoons (7.5 ml) allspice

1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground cloves

Combine all ingredients in crock. Stir well. Cover and cook: Low – 3 hours OR
High – 1

hours. Stir well before serving. Makes about 5 quarts (5 L).

Baked Apples

12 large baking apples (Rome or York)
4 tablespoons (60 ml) lemon juice
4 tablespoons (60 ml) butter, melted
6 tablespoons (90 ml) brown sugar
1 teaspoon (5 ml) nutmeg
2 teaspoons (10 ml) cinnamon

Peel, core, and cut apples in half. Place in crock. Drizzle with lemon juice and but-
ter. Sprinkle with sugar and spices. Cover and cook: Low – 4 hours OR
High – 2 hours. To serve, top with vanilla ice cream. Makes 20 servings.
