Optical Image Stabilizer [STABILIZER]

This mode recognizes and compensates
jitters. You can reduce blurring caused by
jitters when you hold the camera with one
hand for taking a picture of yourself or
when you take pictures indoors where the
shutter speed is slowed down.

1 Optical Image Stabilizer button

1 Keep pressing the stabilizer

button until [STABILIZER]
appears and then select the
stabilizer function mode.

• The stabilizer function may not work

sufficiently in the following cases.
– When too much jitter occurs.
– In digital zoom range.
– When taking pictures while following

subjects in motion.

– When the shutter speed is extremely

slow due to dark conditions or other
reasons.

• For jitters, refer to P29.
• In simple mode [

] or [SELF

PORTRAIT] in scene mode (P51), the
stabilizer function mode is fixed to
[MODE2].

• In Motion image mode [

], [MODE2]

cannot be set, and the stabilizer function
menu does not appear.
