VLAN Configuration

A Vir tual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a network of computers that behave as if they are connected to the same
wire even though they may be physically located on different segments of a LAN. You set up VLANs by
configuring the Router software rather than hardware. This makes VLANs ver y flexible. VLANs behave like
separate and independent networks.

Beginning with Firmware Version 8.6.1, your Router suppor ts the following:

Global Enable/Disable of VLANs

VLANs of “Global” type

Packet prioritization based on VLAN

To configure VLANs on suppor ted models, select VLAN Configuration in the System Configuration screen and
press Return.

The VLAN Configuration screen appears.

Toggle VLAN Enable to On and press Return.

VLAN Configuration

VLAN Enable: Off

Set Up VLAN from this and the following Menus.
