Voltage applied to Red and
Yellow wires is not between 10.8
and 16 volts or there is no volt-
age present

Source unit is not properly
grounded

Check battery, connections and fuses and
repair or replace as necessary. If voltage is
above +16 volts, have the electrical system
inspected by an authorized car service center.

Check wiring and repair as necessary

Source Unit
does not turn
on

Detachable faceplate not proper-
ly connected

Detach faceplate and reinstall into chassis

No backlight
illumination

Antenna is disconnected

Check connections and repair as necessary

Tuner fails to
tune any radio
stations

not configured properly

Bad component in the signal
chain

Check wiring and repair as necessary. Refer to
“Wiring the System” section of this manual for
further information

Check connections and bypass all components
between the source unit and the amplifier.
Connect one component at a time to deter-
mine the culprit. Connect this component to
the Blue wire and check for pops. If pops per-
sist, repair or replace component as necessary

Speakers pop
when turning

Antenna is disconnected or not
properly grounded to vehicle

Antenna cable is intermittent or
damaged

Antenna is wrong type for
AM/FM frequencies

Check connections and installation of antenna
and repair or replace as necessary

Disconnect antenna and test with known work-
ing antenna. If tuner works, check installation
and repair antenna wiring as necessary
