Bread toasting slots

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME:

Unpack the appliance

and remove any labels.

Clean the toaster and its metal warming plate with a

damp cloth. Dry it.

Unroll the electrical cord entirely and plug it in.

Set the browning control button to minimum without

inserting any bread.

Lower the control lever until it is locked down.

Operate the toaster empty once or twice to eliminate

“that new smell”, a slight amount of smoke may be noti-

ced. This is normal because your toaster is new and this

will stop, after a couple of uses.

TOASTING BREAD with the same result each time,

thanks to the browning sensors

Thanks to the new photosensor system, the browning

sensors within the toaster will always give the same

degree of browning at each chosen position, whatever

the type of bread (long french stick, sliced loaf, etc.) or if

it is frozen, fresh or stale.

With the control lever in the high position, insert the

slice(s) of bread into the toasting slots. You can toast

slices of bread that are 8-32 mm thick - Fig.

recommendations:

• To toast slices of French stick perfectly, we recom-

mend that you place the crumb side (soft part)

on the outside and ensure that the slices are touching

the bottom of the toasting slot when you lower the

control lever to start toasting.

• To obtain identical results for each slice of bread, be

sure to cut slices of equal thickness

.

• It is better to leave a 5-second pause between each

toasting cycle.

• If you wish to toast different types of bread at the same

time, be aware that the first one to reach the desired

degree of browning will stop the toasting cycle.

Adjust the browning to the desired setting depending on

the type, freshness and the thickness of the bread

- Fig.

To obtain a specific result, be sure to adjust the variable

browning control position in the middle of are desired

shade of brown as far as the white dot.

To begin toasting press down the control lever until it

locks into the low position, the bread slices are automa-

tically centred and the toasting begins - Fig.

The toaster automatically stops at the end of the toasting

time. The control lever lifts up automatically at three-

quarters of the lever carrriage and the slices of bread

pop up ready.

There is always the possibility that outside factors (sup-

ply voltage, for example) might interfere with the brow-

ning sensors, or that the degree of browning might vary

slightly from one type of bread to another. If there is a

significant difference, please contact Customer Relations

or 0845 602 1454 (UK only) or (01) 412 3000 - Ireland.

“HIGH LIFT” FUNCTION TO TOAST SMALL SLICES

OF BREAD EASILY -

Fig.

Use the “HIGH-LIFT” bread function by lifting the control

lever when the bread has finished toasting to remove the

toast easily.

STOP/EJECT FUNCTION -

Fig.

You can also cancel the toasting or the reheating cycles

or all other functions at any time by pressing on the

STOP/EJECT button,

(positioned on the right

hand side of the appliance) the bread will pop up or the

reheating will stop.

WARMING BREAD INSIDE THE TOASTER -

Fig.

Simply put the bread in the toaster, press the lever control

and press the "warming bread inside the toaster" button

.

This button ensures a shorter warming time for warming

bread.
