5. Transfer the audio files to the CompactFlash™
Card.

Use the music management software to transfer music files to the
removable storage card so you can take the music with you anywhere.

A. Insert the removable

CompactFlash card into the
external drive as shown. You
will hear a beep and a
removable disk icon appears
on PC’s desktop.

Note: The card will now
operate the same as a floppy
drive. The same drag and drop
or copy methods will apply.

B. Transfer the files to the card

using the music management
software.

Notes: Transfer all your MP3 or
G2 files in groups to prevent
reloading the appropriate driver
for each type.

Caution

Removing the card before the
data is completely written may
cause loss of the entire contents
of the card.

The player’s file system will
access files on the card up to two
layers deep (root directory and
two levels of sub-directories
below that)

The player will access up to 99
directories with 99 sub-
directories containing 99 files in
each directory.

The drive can also be used to
transfer files from digital
cameras using CompactFlash
cards to the PC or store files
from the PC on CompactFlash
cards.

C. Pull the card to remove it

from the external drive.
