SWEET MILK DOUGHNUTS

Preheat deep fryer to 370°F

Beat:

Add slowly, beating constantly:

1 cup sugar

Stir in:

1 cup milk

Sift before measuring:

4 cups all-purpose flour

Resift with:

4 or 5 teaspoons melted shortening

4 teaspoons double-acting baking powder

l/4 teaspoon cinnamon or 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind

l/2 teaspoon salt

l/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Mix moist and dry ingredients. Cook for 3 minutes.

EATBALLS

SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS

500 gr. (17.5 oz.) meat

1 egg yolk

1 medium sized onion

1 cup corn starch

2 tablespoons sherry

Oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce
