Viewing Images

You can display images on the LCD monitor at any time. Not only can you view images one frame at a time, it is also possible to
display them as an index or slide show.

Frame-by-Frame Viewing

Images are displayed on the LCD monitor one frame at a time as follows.

Set the mode dial to

.

Press the [SM/CF] button and select the card which contains the
image you want to view.
The first image on the selected card will appear on the LCD monitor.

Press the jog dial to display images to view.

Displays the previous image.

Displays the next image.

Forwards by ten frames.

Backwards by ten frames.

Determine the composition, and cover the viewfinder with the
lens cap holder to block incoming light from the view finder.

Point the remote control at the camera and press the transmit
button. Remember to be within the remote control's transmis-
sion range.(Read the remote control instructions)
The camera will emit a tone when it receives the signal. The self-
timer signal will blink for 2 seconds and the shutter will click.

NOTE

• Sequence mode cannot be operated by remote control.
• The camera cannot be operated by remote control if the remote con-

trol's batteries are dead.
Battery life is about 5 years, though this will depend on conditions of
use and the surrounding environment.

• Keep the remote control out of the reach of infants and small chil-

dren. If accidentally swallowed, see a physician immediately.

• Never disassemble, heat or dispose of the remote control by inciner-

ation. All of these acts are dangerous.

• The available distance from the remote control decreases where

exposure to strong light such as direct sunlight occurs. Do not expose
the photoreceptor in strong light.

• Remote control may not be used under the strong light of a fluores-

cent lamp.

MEMO

• Pictures sometimes cannot be taken by remote control if the subject

is backlighted or cannot be brought into focus with the autofocus fea-
ture. For more information, see "Hard-to-(Auto) Focus Subjects"
(P.17).

• Remote control mode will not be cancelled after taking a picture. You

can continue shooting with the remote control.

• After taking pictures, cancel the remote control mode.

MEMO

• Power to the camera is shut OFF automatically if the camera is not

operated for an interval. This is referred to as "sleeping". Pressing the
ON/OFF button turns the camera back ON.

• Images can be displayed frame-by-frame automatically. This is ref-

fered to as “slide shows” . See page 54.

• When the file is DCF 98 format, a 3-digit directory No. and a 4-digit

file no. are displayed on the control panal.

Caution

• Do not touch the surface of LCD monitor; this can leave a blur on

the monitor. Pushing hard may break the monitor.
