Polling Transmission (Function 10)
Your OKIFAX 740 can be set to automatically send a
document to a calling machine while unattended. This might
be used, for example, when your head office calls during
the night to collect a report. Two types of polling
transmission are possible:
Free Polling Any fax machine with remote polling
facilities can call your machine and request
the document you have left.
Secure Polling Your OKIFAX 740 has a special polling
password as a security feature. Only a
remote machine with the same password
can request your document.
To set a document for polling transmission:
1. Load your document face down, top first, into the
document feeder.
2. Press [FUNCTION] [1] [0].
POLL MODE? Y/N
3. Press [YES].
4. If you are prompted for the number of pages, enter the
number or press [NO] .
CHK ID CODE? Y/N
5. For secure polling press [YES] , or for free polling press
[NO] .
AWAITING POLLING
or
FREE POLLING
Note: To cancel polling transmission, simply remove your
document from the document feeder.
