Timer operations and convenient functions
Enjoying karaoke
(For Australia and N.Z.)
Preparation:
p Press [ ¦ /I] to turn the unit on.
p Turn on the television and switch the video input mode of the television to
suit the type of connection you have made (e.g., VIDEO 1).
p Lower volume with [MIC VOL], then connect the microphone(s) to the mi-
crophone jack(s). (Plug type 6.3 mm monaural)

Start the source.

Select the Karaoke mode.
See below ( [A] , [B] or [C] ) for operation details.

Adjust the main volume and microphone volume.

A Karaoke DVD
Icons are displayed on the television to assist operation.
Remote control only
 Press [AUDIO].
 Press the cursor button [  ] or [  ] to select the vocal se-
lect mode.
Press [  ] or [  ] to select the appropriate mode.
(Refer to the discs jacket for details.)
The display on television changes each time you press the button:
p Solo p Duet
OFF: Vocal off OFF: Vocal off
ON: Vocal on V1 K V2: Vocal 1 K 2 on
V1: Vocal 1 on
V2: Vocal 2 on
Other sources (except for radio)
The changes in Karaoke mode are shown on the tuner/amplifier.
[B] Video CD/CD/cassette tape (multiplex)
Press [KARAOKE] to turn the vocals off.
MONO L: Vocal off (Lch only)

Note
p The Karaoke modes cannot be used with the radio, SUPER 3D AI EQ or
surround effects.
p If a strange noise (squealing or howling) is emitted during use, move the
microphone away from the speakers, or turn down the microphone vol-
ume.
When you are not using the microphone, disconnect it from the MIC jack,
and turn down the microphone volume level to MIN.
When using the VOICE MUTE function
Voice mute may not function sufficiently or noise may interfere when using
the following software.
p Monaural software
p Software with few musical instruments, including classical music and po-
etry recitations
p Software with duets or strong choruses
To record your performance
Start recording in deck 2 and then start singing.
