System Settings

The System menu gives you a wealth of settings that you can use to configure
your M3800’s system administration functions. You can set up system

notifications, view system logs, and even upgrade firmware from this menu.

System Notifications

From the System menu, choose the
Notification item, and the Notification

Configuration screen appears. This screen
lets you have the M3800 notify you in case

of any system malfunction. Press Apply to
confirm all settings. See following table for a

detailed description of each item.





Notification Configuration

Item Description
Beep Notification

Enable or disable the system beeper that beeps when a problem

occurs.

Email Notification

Enable or disable email notifications of system problems.

SMTP Server

Specifies the hostname/IP address of the SMTP server.

Port

Specifies the port to send outgoing notification emails.

Auth Type

Select the SMTP Server account authentication type.

SMTP Account ID

Set the SMTP Server Email account ID.

Account Password

Enter a new password.

Confirm Account

Password

Confirm a new password.

Receiver’s E-mail

Address

Add one or more recipient’s email addresses to receive email

notifications.

Test E-Mail

Click to send out a test e-mail to make sure the settings are

correct.

System Logs

From the System menu, choose the Logs item

and the System Logs screen appears. This
screen shows a history of system usage and

important events such as disk status, network
information, and system booting. See the

following table for a detailed description of each
item:
