Maintenance instructions

CAUTION: IF ANY MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED OTHER
THAN THAT LISTED BELOW, TAKE THE JETTER TO A RIDGID
AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER OR RETURN IT TO THE
FACTORY.

Warning (KJ-3000): disconnect spark plug wire before
doing any maintenance or repairs.

Engine Access (KJ-3000)

In order to access gas cap and air fi lter, disconnect the hose
reel latch and rotate the hose reel forward until it rests on
the front cross bar. (see also fi gure 3)

Inlet fi lter screen

Before each use: Check the inlet fi lter screen for debris that
can restrict water fl ow into the pump resulting in poor
performance. If the fi lter screen is dirty or clogged, remove,
clean and replace.

Jetter nozzle orifi ce

Before each use: Check the nozzle orifi ces for debris. If an
orifi ce is blocked, use nozzle-cleaning tool to clear and
remove debris.

Jetter fl ushing

After use: Run clear water through the jetter and hose(s) in
order to fl ush out debris. Make sure nozzle is removed from
hose for maximum water fl ow.

After fl ushing: Be sure to use the winterizing kit (fi gure 10)
if storing unit in freezing temperatures.

Motor oil (KJ-1590 II)

Be sure to use SAE 90 oil, exactly 0.22l. Do not use too much
oil in the pump because the pressure cannot escape.

You must change the oil for the fi rst time after 50 working
hours and then after every 200 working hours or minimal
once a year.

The oil cap is constructed not to let oil run out of the motor
but you can loose a minimal amount of oil when you turn
the machine upside down.

For information about the KJ-2200 and KJ-3000 check the
motor manufacturer manual.

Accessories

Pressure wash package (fi gure 9)

The KJ-1590 II and KJ-2200 can operate a pressure washer
to spray wash vehicles, drain cleaning equipment and
cables.

To utilise the wash feature:

a) KJ-2200

Check if the pulse actuator is in the OFF position.

• Attach the wash hand to the ½” x 10,5m hose

provided or any ½” jetter hose.

• The black nozzle end has two adjustments. By

rotating the nozzle, the wash pattern can be wide or
narrow. The nozzle also has a forward (low pressure)
and back (high-pressure) position. Make sure the
nozzle is in the back position to begin operation.

Adjust system with the wash hand activated. Once
pressure is achieved, begin washing and adjust the
nozzle setting as required.

b) KJ-1590

II

The pressure wash package can be installed directly
onto the jetting hose ¼”. Tighten the pressure package
and, if needed fi x using the right size wrenches. With
KJ-1590 II you can use pressure wash package with our
without soap suction.

c) KJ-3000

The pressure wash package also can be direct connected
to jetting hose.

Winterizing kit (fi gure 10)

WARNING: Freezing temperatures can cause serious

damage to the pump. If such cold storage conditions are
encountered, charge the jetter with RV (Non-Ethylene
Glycol) Anti-Freeze. The winterizing kit (H-25) includes RV
anti-freeze and a delivery hose that attaches to the inlet
valve.

NOTE: Hose must be reversed with the KJ-1590 II.

WARNING: No substances containing ethylene glycol

can be used in a drainage system.
