To select the channel map

If the program information signal in your area has several channel map
patterns, the Channel map selection menu appears on the TV screen. In this
case, you have to select the channel map on the Channel map selection
menu.

1

Push the cursor stick to ?// to select the channel map you want.

2

Press the cursor stick (OK).

The next program listing data transmission start time appears in the
Grid menu.

3

Turn off the VCR.

Whenever the VCR is turned off, it is in data receiving standby mode,
and will receive the program listing once per day.

If you set the wrong channel map, select the correct channel map following
the steps below.

1

To clear the wrong channel map data, enter your ZIP/POSTAL CODE
but change the last digit to another number which is different than the
one for your area, then set it using the EASY SET UP.

2

Enter the correct ZIP POSTAL CODE for your area, then set it again
using the EASY SET UP.

When the EASY SET UP finishes, wait until the VCR receives the
GUIDE Plus+ program listing.

3

Press GUIDE, then select the correct channel map following the steps in
“To select the channel map” again.

Notes
• If no programs appear on the program listing, the VCR hasn’t received the GUIDE

Plus+ data. To receive the GUIDE Plus+ program listing on a daily basis, be sure to
turn off the VCR when not in use. Whenever the VCR is turned off, it is in data
receiving standby mode, and will receive the program listing once per day. Select
“No listing” on the Grid menu’s program list to see the next data transmission start
time. In most cases, it takes about two hours to download the data.

• The GUIDE Plus+ menu is displayed only in English; therefore, even if you select

French or Spanish on the LANGUAGE menu, the GUIDE Plus+ menu appears only
in English.

• You cannot display the GUIDE Plus+ menu when you press the GUIDE button if:

– you display any other menu.
– the VCR is in recording mode.
– the VCR is in playback mode.
