Removing and installing an optical drive

The system supports a slim SATA optical drive.

Observe the ESD precautions described on page 24.

Remove the top cover. See page 33.

If an optical drive is present in the system, unplug the power and
data cables from the drive.

Locate the locking tab at the rear of the drive.

Pull the tab away from the drive and push the drive out of the
system.

Insert a new drive. The drive is properly inserted if you hear a click
and the locking tab locks into place.

7

Reconnect the power and data cables to the new optical drive.

Note: I-SATA5 port is reserved for connecting to the installed
optical drive.
