Installation Instructions

POLE TONGUE ADAPTER

Equipment Required:

Fastner Kit: 58393F

Wrenches: 9/16, ¾, torque wrench

APPLICATION: This adapter is designed to be used as a mounting platform used with Cequent Towing Products Weight

Distributing Round bar, Trunnion bar (square) or Pro Series SC WD kits up to 1,400 pounds maximum tongue weight as
shown in Figure 1. If pole tongue adapter is used as shown in figure 2

– maximum trailer weight 12,000 lbs with a max

tongue weight of 1,200 lbs.

Center the cross channel (1) on the trailer tongue approximately 29” rearward from the center of the coupler. This
dimension will vary depending on the model of WD system used.

NOTE: Please refer to your WD kit’s installation instructions for specific dimensions and set up information.

Loosely attach the (2) angle brackets (item 4) to the cross channel (Item 1) using the 1/2” x 1.50 hex bolts (Item 2), conical
toothed washers(Item 3), and hex lock nuts (Item 6) as shown.

Slide the angle brackets (item 4) tight against side of trailer tongue. Tighten all (4) four ½” x 1.50 hex bolts(Item 2).

Install the ½” x 6” long hex bolts (Item 6) and flat washers (Item 7) through the appropriate hole in angle bracket so that the
bolts are directly under the trailer tongue. Loosely install the flat washers (Item 7) and hex lock nuts (Item 5) onto bolts.

5.

If necessary, adjust the fore/aft location of the cross channel to match your WD systems specifications

Do not exceed the 32” maximum set up dimension .

6.

Install the lift units (frame brackets) following your weight distributing system’s hook-up procedure.

Angle Bracket

Tighten all 1/2 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 80 Lb.-Ft. (108 N*M)

Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5
and SAE J684.
