ALDES Model HRV 700SFD or

700SDD

is a compact heat recov-

ery ventilator designed to exhaust

stale indoor air and supply fresh air

from outdoors. It is intended for

small commercial and institutional

applications, such as office build-

ings, classrooms, dormitories, res-

taurants, health clubs, etc.

It is a technically advanced con-

trolled mechanical ventilation sys-

tem to meet the requirements of

modern, tightly built and highly in-

sulated buildings. It provides a

consistent supply of fresh air while

lowering heating costs during the

winter by transferring heat from the

exhaust air to the fresh air stream.

During the summer it also reduces

the load on the air conditioner by

lowering the temperature of the

fresh outdoor air. The system pro-

vides an economical solution for

excessive indoor humidity, odors,

stuffiness, and other indoor air pol-

lutants.

As the two air streams pass through

the HRV, they are separated by thin

plates of aluminum in the core. The

air streams do not mix, so there is

no recontamination of the fresh air

by stale air. Heat passes through

the thermally conductive aluminum

from the warmer air stream to the

colder air stream, recovering most

of the energy otherwise lost to the

outdoors.

temperatures rise above 23 °F.

The Model 700SDD blocks out-

side air during defrost and draws

indoor air through the supply (with

the same temperature and defrost

time schedule as the fan defrost

system).

The Model 700 is available with two

defrost options. The Model 700SFD

begins the defrost cycle at tempera-

tures below 23 °F (-5 °C) by shutting

off the supply fan for 4-1/2 minutes,

then resumes normal operation for

17 minutes, repeating the cycle until
