Telephone Interface Instructions
(Microphone Cord Connection)

The telephone interface enables backup sound over a phone
line for satellite broadcasts in the event of a satellite failure.

Equipment Used:
1 – Telephone Interface Box
1 – Telephone Cord (18 inches)
1 – Power Supply with International Adapters
1 – Microphone Cable (furnished locally)

Step 1: Disconnect the handset cord at the base of the telephone and

connect it to the interface box in the jack next to the picture of
the telephone handset.

Step 2: Take the telephone cord furnished in the kit and connect one

end to the base of the telephone and the other end to the
interface box in the jack next to the picture of the telephone.

Step 3: Connect the microphone cable to the interface box in the jack

labeled MIC OUT. Connect the other end of the cable to a
microphone jack in the building sound system.

Step 4: Connect the plug on the power supply cord to the interface box

in the jack indicating a +12VDC connection. Using the proper
adapter, plug the power supply into the building’s wall outlet.

Step 5: Call your area help desk to test the telephone connection

volume level and to connect your call to the broadcast phone

bridge. Insert a Phillips head screwdriver into the unmarked
hole in the face of the interface box. Turn the screwdriver
clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to

decrease the volume.

Step 6: After you have placed the call and are connected to the

broadcast phone bridge, leave the handset off the telephone
and unplug the handset’s cord attached to the interface box
from the jack next to the picture of the telephone handset.
