Troubleshooting

This chapter contains a list of problems that may be encountered while using the
Print Server, and solutions to these problems. Note that the solution may not solve
the problem.

The Printer Server Utility does not detect the Print Server
Close down the Utility and restart it.

While saving settings, a “Save Timed Out” error occurs.
Close down the Utility and restart it.

Printer prints strange or nonsensical characters.
First, clear the printer’s queue from the Print Manager (Start, Control Panel,
Printer). If the problem persists, power cycle the printer and the Print Server.

Computer is printing to the wrong printer.
Make sure the print port selected is the correct printer port in the Print Server
Manager. If the problem persists, power cycle the printer and Print Server.
