UPC-E Version 0 and UPC-E Version 1 are eight digit variations of the UPC symbology. Version 0 is used on retail products
and Version 1 is used on catalogs and shelf labels. The first digit represents the number system, the last digit indicates the
check digit, and the next to the last digit is the type of compression used. The UPC-E symbol can be expanded into a UPC-A
symbol by using the compression character and the following table:

information. To include a supplement on the end of any UPC bar code, enter the digits at the end of the data.
