General Operation
A. General borescope checks before and after each use.
1. Check the borescope for rips, tears and abrasions.
2. Check for proper lighting. If dim or not lighting, replace the batteries.
3. Check for smooth rotation of the eyepiece.
B. Operation
1. Always exercise care when inserting and removing the shaft of the
borescope into and out of the object you are inspecting.
2. Try to predetermine the route and location of the area you are
inspecting. With this you can prebend the 6mm shaft to the direction
you require to facilitate viewing.
3. Never bend the shaft length tighter than 6 in diameter.
4. Never expose the housing to water or liquids.
5. Never insert the shaft into hot locations greater than 158° F (70° C).
6. Never use the borescope near moving parts such as gears, fan
blades or moving belts.

C. Cleaning and Storage
1. Always wipe the tip, shaft and housing with a soft, clean cloth to
remove any residue or moisture.
2. Use a proper cleaning liquid and rinse the tip and shaft with water.

Let

dry.

3. Always gently clean the tip lens and eyepiece with a lens cleaner,
such as isopropyl alcohol, using a cotton tip swab.
4. The borescope should be completely dry before storing it in the case.

If any problems occur with your COBRA-6 borescope, do not attempt to
open the housing.

Inspection Tips
Use the white light for general inspection of internal engine

components.

Use the blue light for surface inspection and detecting leaks with

fluorescent dyes (dyes sold separately). Wear the fluorescence-
