Troubleshooting

The M Series unit displays certain error messages to alert the user to problems detected in

data transmission to the remote handheld device.
For further assistance, contact ZOLL Technical Service at 1-800-348-9011 (in North

America). International customers should call the nearest authorized ZOLL Medical

Corporation distributor.

Possible Causes

HOST FAULT
UPLOAD ABORTED

Remote device aborted transmission.

Check the ZOLL Data Relay
program on the handheld device
for the source of the error; retry.

SERIAL FAULT
UPLOAD ABORTED

M Series unit aborted transmission.

Ensure remote device is on and
ready to accept data; retry.

IF ...

No data was
transmitted
(green LED only)

Devices may be
too far apart.

Move the remote device closer
to the M Series unit and retry.

No data was
transmitted
(blue LED on)

Transmission
settings may be
mismatched.

Check the communication
settings on the M Series unit
and the remote device to ensure
they match.

Some data was
transmitted
(blue LED on)

There may be
environmental
interference.

Devices may be
too far apart.

Reduce the baud rate on the
M Series unit and the remote
device.

Move the remote device closer
to the M Series unit and retry.

SERIAL FAULT

Data retrieval pre-empted by other M Series
operations (such as alarm conditions or
defibrillation activity); unit could not retrieve
data from memory.

Wait for M Series events to clear
and retry.
