9.

Remove the heatsink protective cover.

CAUTION:

Heatsink screws should be tightened and loosened in alternating sequence. Do not

overtighten the screws as this can damage the system board, connectors, or screws. When using
a torque wrench, tighten the screws to 0.68 to 0.90 Nm (6 to 8 in-lb.) of torque.

Install the heatsink:

a.

Position the heatsink on the processor backplate.

b.

Tighten the first screw about three quarters in, and then tighten the second screw completely.

c.

Completely tighten the first screw.

12.

Connect the peripheral devices to the server.
