GetEnvStr

Command

GET

Description

The Text Client/DTCL sends a request to Storage Mirroring to return the value of a Storage
Mirroring program setting. The setting is retrieved by Storage Mirroring from the registry.

Syntax

Notes

If you do not specify a machine name, the value from the current source will be returned. If you
have not identified an active source, no data will be returned.

Description

The Text Client/DTCL sends a request directly to the registry, bypassing Storage Mirroring, to
return the value of a Storage Mirroring program setting.

GETENVSTR

Description

Retrieves an operating system environment variable and stores the value in a variable.

Syntax

GETENVSTR <

env_variable

> $<

variable_name

Options

env_variable

—The name of the operating system environment variable that you want to store in

the user defined variable

!

variable_name

—The name of the variable you want to create. This variable will store the

operating system environment variable specified.

Examples

getenvstr computername $server

Notes

It is not necessary for either the environment or DTCL variable to exist when using this command.
A non-existent environment variable will store a null string in the DTCL variable.
