NOTE:

About the "Remove Target from Clone Group" Confirmation Dialog Box: If you choose

to install software on a system that is a member of a clone group, you will be prompted to remove
the system from the clone group. The Install Software page will be loaded, but the new revision
will not be based on the version currently running on the Master and Clone. Instead, it will revert
to the revision last used before this system was part of the Clone group. For more information on
cloning, see

Chapter 17: Simplified Installation and Management of Multiple Identical NonStop

Servers (Cloning)

.

Upon choosing a target and launching the Install Software page, the next step is to Create or edit
a new software revision.

Select Target Dialog Box

When you launch the Install Software page from the NonStop Software Essentials Menu bar or
the Install Software link on the Work Panel of the NonStop Software Essentials home page, you
must select a target from the “Select Target - Install Software” dialog box and click Continue. Once
a target is selected, you can proceed to the next step of either Creating or editing a new software
revision.

NOTE:

Selecting a target that is a Master will install software on the Master and all the Clones

in the group. For more information on cloning, see

Chapter 17: Simplified Installation and

Management of Multiple Identical NonStop Servers (Cloning)

.

Create or Edit a New Software Configuration Revision

The Install Software window with the subtitle “Step 1:” followed by “Create new software
configuration revision” or “Edit new software configuration revision” is launched in the work panel
by a number of methods, as documented in the introductory section on Installing Software. How
you use this interface is the same regardless of whether you are creating or editing, the only
differences are:

When you attempt to install software on a logical target that has no software configuration
revision in the “New” state, you must first create a new revision. In the example below,
“\SCUBA DEFAULT” is the logical target and “4” is the software configuration revision being
created.
