Using OSM in Conjunction with HP SIM
HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM), which provides infrastructure management for all HP servers and storage, now
supports the NonStop platform via a Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) provided by OSM. HP SIM is
capable of discovering NonStop systems, displaying and forwarding alarms generated by OSM, and collecting system
and device data. Sources of information regarding HP SIM include:

Whether or not HP SIM is right for your environment -- HP SIM provides different values to different customer
environments. Before installing HP SIM on your system console, see Support Note S05135 for information on
the usage model of HP SIM for different customer environments.

Installing the HP SIM client -- Starting with Update 7, the NonStop System Console Installer kit
(S7X-SWV1/HNSC-SWV1) includes an HP SIM CD from which you can install HP SIM. For hardware and
software requirements and installation information, see the NonStop System Console Installer Guide.

Configuration -- Before using HP SIM in the NonStop environment, you must enable secure sockets layer (SSL)
support in OSM. For more information, see the OSM Migration and Configuration Guide.
