The CLI command modes configure , enable , and standard correspond to the admin, monitor,
and crypto roles.
You can add user accounts and set their privileges and passwords in the Administration section of
the HP VMA Web Interface or by using the CLI.

VMA SAN Gateway Upgrade Options
Upgrading the HP VMA SAN Gateway software requires that you obtain the latest software release,
run a command to distribute and install the software on each HP VMA SAN Gateway, and then
reboot the HP VMA SAN Gateway redundant pair. For more information, see the latest HP VMA
SAN Gateway Installation and Configuration Guide or the latest release of the HP VMA SAN Gateway
Release Notes .
There are three options for upgrading the HP VMA SAN Gateway cluster:
• Immediate upgrades—HP VMA SAN Gateways are upgraded simultaneously and then
restarted. During this process clients are unable to maintain connections to exported LUNs
until the pair is restarted. Although this method of upgrading the pair is relatively quick, you
experience some downtime while the nodes reboot.
• Rolling upgrades—Paired SAN Gateways are upgraded and restarted one at a time. Rolling
upgrades can only be done when upgrading between releases that differ by minor version
number; for example, upgrading from version 5.1.0 to version 5.1.

on. Rolling upgrades from one major release to another (for example, 5.1.0 to 5.2.0) are not
supported.
• Staged upgrades—One HP VMA SAN Gateway(s) is upgraded first, followed by the other.
While one gateway is being upgraded, the other provides access to storage, and vice-versa.
