5.1.6.2 Synchronous Mode
Synchronous mode adds more latency to host writes because the write has to be committed on
both primary and backup storage servers. The host service time increases because the write
operation has to be sent to the secondary server over the IP network and an acknowledgement
must be sent back through this network before the host is acknowledged.
