Attribute: Indicates the port attribute (always set to Target for iSCSI ports)

iSCSI Function box: Enables you to perform iSCSI-related operations

iSCSI Function box

Use this box to perform iSCSI-related operations.

Ping: Issues a ping command from an iSCSI port to a host

Register: Registers iSCSI port information (such as IP addresses and iSCSI names) in the iSNS server

Delete: Removes iSCSI port information (such as IP addresses and iSCSI names) from the iSNS server

Change Port Mode box

Use this box to change information in the Port table.

Setting the Fibre Channel Topology

1.

In the Port table or the Select a Port list, select a Fibre Channel port.

2.

If a fabric switch is used, select ON in the Fabric list in the Mode area. If a fabric switch is not used,

select OFF in the Fabric list.

3.

In the Connection list, select FC-AL or P-to-P.
If a fabric switch is used, consult the switch documentation to check if it requires point-to-point topology.

4.

Click Set. A confirmation message appears.

5.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the Port table (shown in blue), but not to the disk array.

6.

Click Apply. A confirmation message appears.

7.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the disk array.

Setting Fibre Channel Port Addresses

1.

In the Port table or the Select a Port list, select a Fibre Channel port.

2.

In the Fibre Address list in the Mode area, select an address.

3.

Click Set. A confirmation message appears.

4.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the Port table (shown in blue), but not to the disk array.

5.

Click Apply. A confirmation message appears.

6.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the disk array.

Setting the Data Transfer Speed

1.

In the Port table or the Select a Port list, select a Fibre Channel port.

2.

In the Host Speed list in the Mode area, select a data transfer speed.

3.

Click Set. A confirmation message appears.

4.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the Port table (shown in blue), but not to the disk array.

5.

Click Apply. A confirmation message appears.

6.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the disk array.

Switching to standard, high-speed, or high-speed (2 port) mode

Channel adapter boards can be set for standard mode, high-speed, or high-speed (2 port) mode. If

possible, apply high-speed mode to channel adapters to improve the system performance. Be aware that

you can only apply high-speed or high-speed (2 port) mode to channel adapters that satisfy certain

requirements.

NOTE:

High-speed (2 port) mode is available only if the XP disk array has firmware version 21.06.22 or

later installed.

In the Package tree on the Port pane, right-click a channel adapter (CHA) package. A shortcut menu

appears. The current mode is preceded by a bullet.

2.

Select the mode that you want. A confirmation message appears.
