Configuring iSCSI Ports

1.

In the Port table or the Select a Port list on the Port pane, select an iSCSI port. The current configuration

of the iSCSI port appears below the Select a Port list.

2.

To configure the port, edit the items below the list. For detailed information about the items, see ”

iSCSI

port settings and iSNS server settings

” on page 23.

NOTE:

Use the vertical scroll bar to view all the items (some of the items are hidden).

Click Set. A confirmation message appears.

4.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the Port table (shown in blue), but not to the disk array.

5.

Click Apply. A confirmation message appears.

6.

Click OK. The settings are applied to the disk array.

Making settings on iSCSI ports and iSNS servers

Use the Port tab of the LUN Manager pane to configure iSCSI ports in your disk array, make settings on

iSNS servers, and modify settings when the system is in operation.

1.

Ensure that the Command View XP or XP Remote Web Console main pane is in Modify mode. For

more information, see the HP StorageWorks Command View XP User Guide for XP Disk Arrays or the

HP StorageWorks XP Remote Web Console User Guide for XP1024/XP128.

2.

In the LUN Manager pane, select the Port tab.

3.

In the Package tree view, click the iSCSI folder. The Port table displays a list of iSCSI ports in the disk

array.

TIP:

If you specify a channel adapter in the Package tree view, the Port table displays only the

ports in the specified channel adapter.

4.

Select an iSCSI port from the Port table or the Select a Port drop-down list. The current configuration of

the iSCSI port is displayed below the Select a Port drop down list.

NOTE:

Use the vertical scroll bar to view all the items.

Edit the items below the drop-down list.

6.

Click Set. A message appears asking if you want to change the port settings.

7.

Click OK to close the message. Settings are applied to the Port table, but not to the disk array.

8.

Click Apply. A message appears asking if you want to apply the setting to the disk array.

9.

Click OK to close the message. Settings are applied to the disk array.

NOTE:

If a message appears prompting you to register the iSCSI port, click Yes. If the registration process

finishes, a pane appears indicating if the registration ended successfully. If the registration ended

successfully, the pane displays Success. If the registration failed, the pane displays the error code and error

message. Resolve the error and retry registration by clicking Register in the iSCSI Function box in the Port

tab.

Removing information about an iSCSI port from an iSNS server

1.

In the Port tab, click Delete in the iSCSI Function box. The Delete iSNS Information pane appears.
