Not Authenticated—The physical drive could not be authenticated as a genuine HP hard
drive. The host bus adapter will no longer control the drive LEDs. Please replace the hard
drive with a genuine HP hard drive.

Missing - Was Not Authenticated—Indicates that a physical drive that was located in the
system and had a status of Not Authenticated has been removed.

Unknown—The Storage Agents cannot determine the status of this physical drive. You
may need to upgrade your driver software or Storage Agents.

Serial Number—Displays the serial number assigned to the physical drive. This value is based
on the serial number as returned by the SCSI inquiry command, but may have been shortened
due to space limitations. Use this item for identification purposes.

Capacity —Displays the size of the physical drive. A megabyte (MB) is 1,048,576 bytes, a
gigabyte (GB) is 1,073,741,824 bytes, and a terabyte (TB) is a thousand gigabytes.

Many hardware manufacturers use a megabyte value of 1,000,000 instead of 1,048,576.
This may result in discrepancies between the manufacturer's stated size and the size reported
by this application.

Firmware Version—Displays the firmware revision level of the SAS physical drive.

Smart Carrier Application Firmware Version—Displays the physical drive smart carrier
application firmware version number of the Smart Carrier that passed authentication.

Smart Carrier Bootloader Firmware Version—Displays the physical drive smart carrier
bootloader firmware version number of the Smart Carrier that passed authentication.

Placement—Indicates if the physical drive is in an internal or external storage system. The
following values are valid:

Internal—The physical drive is in an internal storage system.

External—The physical drive is in an external storage system.

Unknown—The physical drive is not in a storage system or the Storage Agents cannot
determine the drive placement.

—This symbol indicates that the drive is a hot plug drive.

Disk Type—Indicates the type of disk drive. The following values are valid:

SAS—The disk is a serial SCSI disk drive.

SATA—The disk is a Serial ATA disk drive.

Unknown—The Storage Agents cannot determine the disk type.

Media Type—Indicates the type of media the physical drive is composed of. The following
values are valid:

Rotating Platters—The physical drive media is composed of rotating platters.

Solid State—The physical drive media is composed of solid state electronics.

Unknown—The Storage Agents cannot determine the media type.

SAS Address—Displays the SAS address assigned to this disk drive. This item can be used for
identification purposes.

Rotational Speed—Indicates the rotational speed of the drive in revolutions per minute.

Used Reallocs—Displays the number of sectors of the reallocation area that have been used
by the physical drive.

OS Assigned Name—Displays the operating system name associated with this disk drive.
