1 Introduction
1.1 Abstract
The Passive Inter-Modulation Tester Data Acquisition software is a Microsoft Windows based
application used to log data and publish PIM measurements to a file in the PDF format. The
data is ‘pulled’ from the PIMT unit using a RS-232 connection.
1.2 Required Software
Wireless Telecom Group supplies a USB flash drive that contains all the files necessary for au-
tomatic installation. An ftp web site is also available to download the software if the Wireless
Telecom Group flash drive is unavailable.
1.3 Prerequisites
The PIMT Data Acquisition software uses Microsoft Excel as a container for the measurement
data and uses its publishing capabilities to generate the PDF files. Earlier versions of Excel
require an Add-In to enhance its capabilities so as to create PDF format files. The installa-
tion procedure will check for this Add-In, and if not detected, prompt the user to continue the
installation.
