TYPE: Select the type of network setup in use: static configuration, DHCP, and
PPPOE.

Static: Allocates an IP address manually.
DHCP: Automatically acquires an IP address from the DHCP server.

Note: After selecting the DHCP mode and receiving confirmation of the
change, restart the system. After startup, the DVR will establish a connection
with the DHCP server automatically. When this is successful the DVR will be
allocated an IP address, which will be displayed on the screen.

PPPOE: Uses a broadband dial-up network access method, as shown below:

PPPOE NAME and PASSWORD: Enter the user name and password provided to you
by your ISP.
When using an ADSL modem, you can connect it directly to the DVR. If you do so,
select "Internet Connection" for the PPPOE mode. Press "Enter" on the PPPOE
selection in the connection mode to enter the PPPOE Setup screen. After entering the
broadband user name and password, click "Enter" and the system will restart. After that,
the DVR will automatically establish a network connection using the PPPOE mode.
After a successful connection, the IP address will automatically be modified to the
acquired dynamic WAN IP address.
MEDIA PORT
: Input the port number used for the private protocol communications
between the DVR and the PC (usually 9000). If this port is occupied by any other
service, modify it to an unused port.
WEB PORT: Input the http port (default = 80). If the administrator modifies the WEB
port to any other port, such as 88, you will need to add the port number to the IP
address (for example: "http://192.168.1.19:88") in the address bar when accessing the
DVR via Internet Explorer.
IP address: Allocate an IP address, depending on the network environment of the
DVR.
Subnet mask: Enter a subnet mask depending on the network environment of the
DVR.
Gateway: Set the gateway, depending on the network environment of the DVR. If there
is no router device in the network, please allocate an IP address on the same network
segment. If there is a router device in the network, you will need to set the
corresponding gateway.
