10. Using the AF Button in Video Mode

The Phottix Hector 9HD’s AF button offers en-
hanced AF functions when shooting video when
using compatible specially made Phottix Battery
Grips and AF Cables.
1.Turn off the Hector 9HD and camera.
2.Connect the AF cable to the Accessory Cable
Port on the Hector 9HD.
3.Connect the other end of the cable to the USB
port on a compatible Phottix Battery Grip.
4.Turn on the camera and Hector 9HD.
5.Set video mode and engage live view on the
camera.
6.Use the Hector 9HD AF button to autofocus in
video mode.

11. Using the Hector 9HD to shoot video

The Hector 9HD cannot start or stop video re-
cording on your camera. Consult your camera

manual for correct use of video functions.
The Hector 9HD can be used to:1. Preview the
Live View image and compose shots, 2. Zoom
and Focus, 3. Review recorded video.
Note: Video recording must be started or stopped
from you camera.

12. Using the Hector 9HD Menus

The Hector 9HD offers many customizations
through the device’s menus.
1.Press the menu button to access the menus.
2.Press the Up or Down buttons to cycle through
the menus (Picture, Sound, OSD, Setup, and
PIP&POP).
3.Press the Source button to cycle through the
selected menu options.
4.Press the Up or Down buttons to cycle through
sub-options.
