Shooting in the dark
Preventing red-eye 2 1 5 4
If the flash fires when you take a photo of a person in the dark, a red
glow may appear in the eyes. To prevent this, select
(Red Eye) or
(Red Eye Fix).
Using the flash 2 1 5 4
Use the flash when taking photos in the dark.
In Shooting mode, press [ e] repeatedly to change the flash
option.
Option Description
(Auto)
The flash fires when the subject or background
is dark.
(Red Eye)*
The flash fires when the subject or
background is dark.
The camera reduces red-eye. •

The flash always fires.
Light intensity is adjusted automatically. •
