Get Started with Contacts

Here is some basic information about contacts.

You can create a Google contact, a phone contact,
or a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync contact.

Contacts are stored locally to the phone’s memory.

Contact entries are automatically sorted
alphabetically.

Google contacts are shared with your existing
Google account and you can import them to the
phone after creating a Google Mail account.

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (also known as Work
or Outlook) contacts are those contacts intended to
share with either an Exchange Server or from within
Microsoft® Outlook®.

Important:

You must synchronize your email accounts after
setup to verify that your Contacts display on the
device. See “Accounts and Synchronization” on
page 50.

Contacts stored locally can be lost if the phone is ever
reset to its factory default parameters.
