When the battery level becomes too low, the phone automatically
turns off.
Switching the Phone On or Off
1. Press and hold (on the upper right side of the
phone) until the phone switches on.
2. Sweep your finger across the glass to unlock the phone.
Note: The display language is preset to English at the factory. To change the
language, use the Language menu. For more information, refer to
“Changing Your Settings” on page 102.
3. To switch off the phone, press and hold , until the
Phone options screen displays.
4. Tap Power off to switch off the phone.
Locking and Unlocking the Touch Screen
1. Press to lock the touch screen.
2. Press again to display the main screen then sweep
your finger across the glass to unlock the touch screen.
Setting up your Phone
When you first turn on your phone, you will need to set up a few
things.
1. An informational screen will display describing the
on-screen keyboard settings. Tap one of the following
options:
• Skip All: skips the steps listed below and takes you directly to the
Home screen.
• Emergency call: skips the steps listed below and displays the
dialer so you can make an emergency call even if your SIM card is
not installed.
• Next: takes you to the steps listed below.
2. At the Internet connection screen, the 3G network or Wi-Fi
option is pre-selected. If you want to use Wi-Fi only and
bypass the network, tap Wi-Fi only.
3. Tap Connect to Wi-Fi if you want to connect to Wi-Fi
immediately. For more information, refer to “Wi-Fi” on
page 134.
4. Tap Next.
