Notes
• In SPEAKER SETUP, the North American model’s
OSD displays both metric and imperial
measurements. The other model’s displays metric
measurements only. The manual shows both.
• When you set the distance, the sound cuts off for a
moment.
• If each of the front or surround speakers are not
placed at an equal distance from your listening
position, set the distance according to the closest
speaker.
• Do not place the surround speakers farther away
from your listening position than the front speakers.
x LEVEL
You can vary the level of each speaker as
follows. Be sure to set “TEST TONE” to
“ON” for easy adjustment.
The default settings are underlined.
CENTER Adjusts the level of the center
0 dB speaker (–10 dB to +10 dB, 1
dB steps).
SURROUND-LEFT Adjusts the level of the
0 dB surround speakers (–10 dB
SURROUND-RIGHT to +10 dB, 1 dB steps).
0 dB
SUB WOOFER Adjusts the level of the
0 dB sub woofer (–10 dB to +10
dB, 1 dB steps).

FRONT Front speaker distance from the
3.0 m/ listening position can be set in
10 ft. 0.2 meter (1 ft.) steps from 1.0 to
7.0 meters (3 to 23 ft.).
CENTER Center speaker distance can be
3.0 m/ moved up to 1.6 meters (5 ft.)
10 ft. forward closer to the listening
position from the front speaker
position, in 0.2 meter (1 ft.) steps.
SURROUND Surround speaker distance can be
3.0 m/ moved up to 4.6 meters (15 ft.)
10 ft. closer to your listening position
from the front speaker position, in
0.2 meter (1 ft.) steps.

— YES: Normally select this.
— NONE: Select this if no surround
speaker is used.
• SUB WOOFER
— YES
Notes
• When you select an item, the sound cuts off for a
moment.
• Depending on the settings of other speakers, the
sub woofer may output excessive sound.
x DISTANCE
The default distance setting for the speakers
in relation to the listening position is shown
below.
Be sure to change the value in the Setup
Display when you move the speakers. The
default settings are underlined.
z You can directly increase the sub woofer level by
pressing SUB WOOFER LEVEL on the system.
