The Swans 2.2 is Swans flagship system standing over 6'8" tall. This is one of those" wall of sound "expe-
riences that will leave you breathless.
The system employs 16x2 midrange ribbon drivers and 32x2 ribbon tweeters to give an incredibly accurate
soundstage. By using multiple small ribbon drivers instead of the more conventional singular plainer rib-
bon, the speaker is much easier to place. The sweet spot is large and involving.
Integration with sub-woofers is much easier. Instead of using a conventional large diameter woofer, the
designers chose eight robust 8" woofers. Each woofer incorporates a huge 4" diameter voice coil. This is a
300% increase in size over conventional voice coils. Using multiple small woofers with oversized voice
coils is likened to dropping a high performance engine into a small sports car. The results are explosive.
There is a visceral 'slap in the chest' reaction to action sounds such as explosions and gunshots. The cabi-
nets are beautifully finished in rosewood, piano black or a contemporary brushed aluminum finish.
